Day #14 Carolina Pad Sasquatch Giveaway

Welcome to DAY NUMBER FOURTEEN of the Back 2 School Blog Bash 2009 – 30 Days of Giveaways, at 3 Boys & a Dog!

*This press release was provided  by Carolina Pad, but I have reviewed a few of their products HERE and HERE.

Sasquatch

Carolina Pad (www.carolinapad.com), the industry leader in fashion school and office products, is taking its first steps into the eco-friendly marketplace with the release of the Sasquatch® Brand, a line of school and office products composed mostly of recycled materials.  Through a partnership with brand developer Don Baddour, president of High Peak Co., Inc., Carolina Pad has launched an interactive, environmentally-friendly brand and Web site (www.find-sasquatch.com) that encourages users to find the Sasquatch in their own lives. Starting this spring, Sasquatch notebooks, binders, folders, and writing tools will be available at Kmart, Staples, Target, Walgreens, and Wal-Mart.

Baddour believes that the Sasquatch story is the ideal vehicle for encouraging environmental stewardship among young consumers. “Sasquatch is the ultimate environmentalist, as well as one of the most recognizable ecological characters,” says Baddour, who trademarked the brand in 1988. “Kids love fun brands that also stand for something. By taking a lead in developing these products, Carolina Pad is doing more than triggering conservational awareness with them. They’re inspiring kids to develop the lifelong habits they need to take better care of our world and ‘leave nothing but tracks’.”

The Sasquatch Brand is part of a broader effort of Carolina Pad’s Commerce with a Conscience program, an initiative that promotes environmentally responsible behavior on both organizational and individual levels. “Research has shown that most kids want to contribute to environmental efforts, but aren’t sure how to do so,” said Clay Presley, CEO of Carolina Pad. “Through the Sasquatch Brand and Web site, we can provide them with a simple, fun, and meaningful way to express their commitment to the environment. We’re excited to take this first step into environmental production that not only educates young consumers, but supports Carolina Pad values.”

Sasquatch Products

·         The Sasquatch One-Subject Notebook, Ideal Book, Composition Book, Mini Comp Book,
19-Month Planner, and Personal Book all have 100 percent recycled covers and interior pages. The covers of each feature interactive challenges and games, while the front, inside cover directs users to the Sasquatch Web site to learn more about being green and making tracks of their own.

·         The sturdy Sasquatch turned-edge binder (100 percent recycled content), Two-Pocket Folder (80 percent recycled content), and Tab Dividers (60 percent recycled content) feature complementary designs in green, brown, and khaki earth tones, and serve as a great organizational tool for kids juggling homework or projects.

·         The collection also features a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) free pencil zippered clutches, perfect for toting the Sasquatch line of pencils (pending FSC certification).

Sasquatch Web Site

Carolina Pad’s Sasquatch Web site is an interactive destination designed to give visitors information on environmental issues. From interactive games to informative tips, blogs, and links to additional green resources, kids can use the site to make a difference. Fans and users of online networking sites will also be able to connect with Sasquatch through Twitter and Facebook.

“Environmental issues matter to everyone and our children are eager to make a difference,” Presley concludes. “By incorporating a little Sasquatch into their daily lives, kids can get excited about environmental protection and responsibility. The ideas make sense and it’s the right thing to do.”

I really need the Sasquatch 2-pocket folders so I can organize various paperwork that will stay inside the pockets. I have plain manila folders without pockets but they are useless as some papers slip out.
