How do you keep the fork from sticking into the dough?

When you’re making the criss-cross pattern, using chilled dough can help! When it’s colder the fork may not stick to the dough. You can also add some flour to the fork so that when you are pushing down on the dough while it’s on the baking sheet, it doesn’t stick.
