CONTEST NOW CLOSED!
Book Description:
Julie & Julia, the bestselling memoir that’s “irresistible….A kind of Bridget Jones meets The French Chef” (Philadelphia Inquirer), is now a major motion picture. Julie Powell, nearing thirty and trapped in a dead-end secretarial job, resolves to reclaim her life by cooking in the span of a single year, every one of the 524 recipes in Julia Child’s legendary Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Her unexpected reward: not just a newfound respect for calves’ livers and aspic, but a new life-lived with gusto. The film version is written and directed by Nora Ephron and stars Amy Adams as Julie and Meryl Streep as Julia.
Kelli Says:
I wanted to tell you that while I enjoyed it for the most part, I was very offended by the sheer amount of curse words in it! I don’t mean those tiny ones that start with ‘S’ either, I mean the full-fledged ‘F’ one, as well as all the others! Ok, I have read books that might have one or two stuck in the book and while my insides tightened while reading them, it wasn’t a big deal. This book, however, had this word at least 2 times per chapter!
Win It:
If curse words do not bother you, I suggest reading it. It was very cute aside from those words.

This is supposed to be a very good book and movie. I would love to read it and promise to skip the bad words. Not too fond of them. blogs are fun to read. You can read them in short segments unlike books where you may have an exceptionally long chapter you don't want to leave in the middle.

I appreciate the caution about the language in this book. I'd like to win it, and I'll skip over those words, too!
I'm with you on 'skipping' and 'screeching' when the curse words show up, but I think I'm strong enough to skip over them. I've heard great things about this book.
