The Old Schoolhouse Store 2009-2010 Schoolhouse Planner Review

The Old Schoolhouse Store 2009 2010 Schoolhouse Planner ReviewWhoo-Hoo!” “Holy Cow!” “Oh, My!” Those were my initial responses to this planner. Although, how they can call this monstrosity just a planner is totally beyond my realm of comprehension! I have wanted it since The Old Schoolhouse Store first mentioned it, but could not justify the $39.00 for it. After all, I have a calendar that I use and a tracking program that records our daily schedules, attendance, and grades. Obviously, I only wanted this because I have an office supply addiction and organizers are my biggest weakness by far! So, that is where the “Whoo-Hoo!” came in. Heidi let us know that our first review as members of the TOS Crew would be the planner I had been drooling over!

When I received the 2009 Schoolhouse Planner E-Book, I immediately opened it to print it out… here is where my “Holy Cow!” came in. This thing is 375 pages long! Needless to say, I did not print straight-away! LOL!

Now comes the “Oh, My!” part… obviously, I can’t show you the entire planner, LOL! But, we have been given permission to break down the Table of Contents for you. I have also included a photo album of sample pages from the TOS website:

You can even purchase the membership so you get each one! E-Book: 2009-2010 Planner Module Membership is $71.95 – that is an over $25.00 saving from buying each one individually. Here is a small excerpt that I copied straight from TOS’s site about the Planner Modules:

If you have used our modules before, then you already know how much learning and fun we pack into every one; if you have never seen a module before, you are probably wondering what you’ll find inside. Check it out:

  • Every module is filled with interesting information and facts, studying a topic in-depth.
  • We look far and wide to find the best additional resources to expand your studies.
  • You’ll find activity pages, quizzes, and puzzles your kids will beg to work on!
  • Your children will enjoy coloring pages designed just for our modules.
  • We include copy work to help develop penmanship skills.
  • Yummy recipes in every module!

All of these features make for a fantastic mini unit study on a wide variety of topics, but we are now going even further with our modules. We have new elements that you just can’t miss!

Every module will now include lap booking activities in addition to all that is listed above. We are now expanding the modules with activities geared towards older students.

——————————————-

My plan is to work each monthly topic into our school year as a little extra fun. I have a “mom’s choice” task worked into each week of homeschooling and I can see that this is going to be taking up a portion of that spot now. icon biggrin The Old Schoolhouse Store 2009 2010 Schoolhouse Planner Review I thought of spending just a bit of time playing with this so I could write an accurate review and saving it for next year to actually work into our plans as a course. But, who am I kidding? Now that I know what an awesome resource this is, I will be one of the first to purchase next year’s edition!
