CONTEST NOW CLOSED!
It is summer time and that means that my boys are starting to get bored. Consequently, when Jennifer at JumpStart contacted me to ask if I would be interested in reviewing their new Virtual World, I jumped on it!
I am going to do my best to explain, but this is something you are going to have to see for yourself! You should spend some time playing around on the online map! There is something for almost everyone!
Knowledge Adventure Says:
For more than 15 years, Knowledge Adventure has set the standard in children’s software by creating the finest educational products for use in the home and the classroom. In addition to our CD games, we’ve launched a beta version of our first browser-based virtual world at http://www.jumpstart.com/ for kids 3-10 years old (see attachment for details). Kids can create avatars called Jumpeez for themselves and explore magical worlds, discovering and unlocking games, videos, and storybooks that help them practice essential skills from math to reading. Over the next year, we will continue to add more features, portals, and learning games to this site.
Mom Says:
As a mom of three boys, I have been familiar with JumpStart for many years. I am all about putting my boys on the computer for a little fun learning. In today’s world of technology, kids all need to be familiar with computers!
|
Pros |
Cons |
| 1. Educational & Fun! | The baby has to have my help |
| 2. Bright, Engaging Colors | Some things load pretty slowly |
| 3. All of my boys can play | Not enough computers in my house! |
| 4. Family Membership! |
Zack (7) absolutely loves it! He begs to play continuously. Tank (2) only wants to play for a couple minutes at a time. Tripp (9) thinks it is for babies and can’t wait for the newest world to come out…MarineLand, which will be for 3rd to 5th Grade.
They also have an awesome blog filled with crafts, teaching tips, and just plain fun for parents! I signed up for the RSS feed and I suggest you do, also!
Buy It: http://www.jumpstart.com/
Win It: Jennifer has graciously offered to let one of my readers win a THREE MONTH subscription to the JumpStart Virtual World!!

I would love to get their Preschool Advanced CD or their 2nd grade CD for my kids.
My son loves jumpstart virtual world and even uses his own money to pay for it.
Oh, my kids would love to do this. I am most interested in the preschool CD as my daughter is dying to do school like her brothers.
And I did finally hit the button to follow your blog. Been meaning to do that for quite awhile.
