Org Junkie’s Monthly Round-Up

April 30th, 2009 · 20 Comments

So, I admit it… I forgot to do this! When I got my message from Laura at Organizing Junkie I semi-panicked! I need traffic and I can’t even do these simple things to get people here :-) . So, I grabbed a camera and a few bags and ran to my hall closet.

So these are the before pictures… what do you think? Pretty bad huh? Well, 2 walmart bags of trash, 20 minutes, 1 walmart bag of yardsale, and a few pieces of dirty laundry later and I have:

TA! DA!! :-) I was so happy with my minimal effort! I collect Monopoly games, BTW that is why there are so many of them :-)

Hahaha! I’m another participant in the roundup and found you that way. I collect Scrabble games! My game shelf was already neat, so I didn’t enter that one, but wait’ll you see my clothes closet… :)

All I can say is WOW, what a difference. You must feel so much lighter! Maybe my family will have that many board games when my daughter stops eating everything small and plastic. :) Thanks for the post!

That’s impressive for only 20 minutes. It would have taken me a couple hours (probably because I would have spent the 1st hour trying to avoid it!). I can honestly say, though, that I can fit all my games in one drawer, so that’s not my problem area! :) I’ll try to remember to keep you posted as to how I like my spice organizers. If I forget, come on back and ask me again. So far, so good. The only couple things I would suggest is measuring your cupboard first and taking the measurements with you. The only thing I can fit on the top shelf is small bottles like the ginger and nutmeg, because the shelf is a little too tall for me. And then you can’t see those small bottles behind the bigger ones. But I know they’re there, so at least there’s a logical order. The other thing is that with the wire one, the glass bottles tend to want to slide forward and fall off. There was a plastic one (also at Target) with “gripper” stuff on the shelves – might have been better.

Great job! I’m very impressed. It takes so much work to organize and declutter. I’m shamed into getting off the computer and tackling my own disaster now :)

    Stopping by from the MBC.
