Blogging Can Be Addictive!

OK, so I have spent most of my day setting up scheduled blog posts to go on each day, setting up an affiliation with Amazon.com, and figuring out how to be able to accept donations. Now, I guess I will be spending tomorrow trying to figure out how to drive traffic to my blog… LOL!

I also need to get my schedule set up for the new school semester. I use Homeschool Tracker and absolutely LOVE it, it records everything and they have a forum where you can ask questions, etc. You set up your schedule, assignments, resources, and it has a place for a student journal as well as the teacher journal. I use the teacher journal to record everything from what kind of day we had to any notes I think of. PLUS, you can add in field trips, chores, and appointments. It figures your grades and so much more. Check it out, I don’t know if there is any kind of referral thing but be sure to mention that you heard about it from me, Kelli Miller, if there is :-)

Hi, Came through from PBS HS forum.

The best stat counter is from SiteMeter. It is free. Other supposedly free stat counters put ads on your site and require that you show them. With SiteMeter.com you can see who is visiting your blog. See the little gizmo in my blog’s sidebar and click it to look around at the data captured by SiteMeter. It is fun to look at.

If you also get a free ClustrMap it will show where all your visitors come from on a map image. Check mine out. Although it just cleared and restarted at zero today, for the year. It also makes a list of each country adn how many visitors were from that country.

You can join blog carnivals to drive traffic to your site.

The Carnival of Homeschooling is one of them, go to whyhomeschool.blogspot.com to read how to join. Deadline is Monday nights at 6pmPST.

    Welcome to blogging.

One tip: follow all copyright laws. If you blog something you read on another blog or a website make sure to credit it by saying “Hat Tip” and then link through to that original blog. Otherwise, it is plagarism and ethically bad and sometimes breaking copyright law too.

    Have fun.

BTW something is funky with the way you set up your comments. I blog on blogspot too and the way mine is set up is that it shows my profile name and my photo and allows you and readers to click through to my profile then to my blog easily. I don’t get the way your comment is set up, have never seen this way before on a blogspot blog.
