About me and mine

I am Kelli! I have three boys 8, 6, and 2. I also am an IEC, International Exchange Coordinator. That means I find homes for high school exchange students and supervise them during their 10 month stay in the United States. Our group has 50 kids each year and I am the IEC that does all the presentations. I have to build them as well as give them. We have 3 per year and try to coordinate fun activities for them through the year. My husband is a Special Education teacher, head Freshman Football Coach, and Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at the local high school. I try to support him by taking the kids to as many of his games as we can manage.

Tripp, my 8 year old is special needs. He has been diagnosed everything under the sun: ADD, ADHD, Slightly Autistic, OCD, ODD, and possibly Bi-Polar. During the middle of 2nd grade he was given several IQ and placement tests and we found out our boy is Gifted on top of everything else. His IQ is 137 and we were told that it can get higher as he gets older. He seems to function much better on a schedule so that is why we have calendars and reminders all over our house… for my oldest. Tripp has been homebound since mid-November and I am loving it.

Zack, my middle boy is your typical social butterfly! He has more social events to attend than I do and I get to take him to all of them. He also plays baseball and football.

Thomas is TWO – need I say more? :-)

Add in the fact that people think I am the home party queen (I love Pampered Chef, Home Interior, Tastefully Simple, Mary Kay, & Tupperware) and try to have one party for each consultant per year. Then, I have 2 nieces that do dance, one who does Pageants, and one who is in the concert band – and, Aunt Kelli is expected to attend every event. LOL!

Needless to say, I am BUSY – I needed a schedule that worked around me and kept my house pretty decent with very little effort. My plan changes constantly but the basics of it stay the same – I wanted others to be able to use the program I use but be able to adapt it to fit their unique needs very easily. So, I also own a couple yahoogroups.

I hope you enjoy your stay and please do not hesitate to ask questions or offer your advice. As they say, 2 heads are better than one.

    Hi Kelli,
I’m glad I noticed the blog link at the bottom of your email. My youngest dd (10yo) has ADHD. Just recently she had a serious episode of obsessive thoughts so we had to drop the dosage of her concerta… but now she can’t sit still, be quiet or stop “bothering” her siblings… we will be looking at changes in January… she also has difficulties with anxiety – although have lessened a bit with the drop in concerta dosage…. feel free to email me anytime…

We had a foreign exchange student from Germany 6 years ago… it was quite an experience.
